MUMBAI: Online gaming company Games2win has launched an online game of 'Fantasy Cricket.

Consumers control the game and the destiny of their own team. The company says that the game is ideal fo those who scream at the Indian Cricket board for their awful selection of the national team.

Fantasy Cricket allows players to create their own team by choosing team members from a list of global cricketers. The player starts by creating a unique team name and is assigned a certain number of points. Using these points, the player can select individual cricketers from a global list available.

Once the team and its members has been finalised, the 'fantasy' part takes over. As cricket gets played in the real world, the cricketers chosen by the player are marked on their performance ( by a computer algorithm) and the points added up. The best selection of cricketers would lead to the best overall scores and hence the best fantasy player.

The games2win cricket game has many features to allow the players maximum flexibility and control over their teams. For instance, players can make and manage as many teams as they like. Also, a player can make as many substitutions or changes in his team, if certain cricketers are not performing in their real life games.

Fantasy Cricket also allows users to form their own leagues and compete with friends and family, which brings into play prolonged interaction. Finally, the top players are eligible to win cash prizes, all based on the real skills of selecting cricketers that perform.

Games2win.com CEO Alok Kejriwal says, "We all are all 'arm chair cricketers'. We all have a point of view of who should have been selected and who should have been kicked out in the final team. Keeping this in mind, we have created a game format that allows these emotions to become action.

"Fantasy Cricket truly involves ordinary consumers to really play cricket on their terms and intelligence. The current game is also timed to co-incide with the India-Australian series and we will extend the same going forward into the year."
