Nautanki.tv launches Games2win channel on online network

agencyfaqs! news bureau | agencyfaqs! | New Delhi, February 04, 2008

Nautanki.tv, the network of online videos distributed across websites, has added a channel for the online gaming site, Games2win. The games will be available on the Nautanki.tv widget or application, which, according to the company, is placed on more than 2,500 websites and blogs and gets 4.5 million views a day. Nautanki.tv has also created a Facebook application, which it recently upgraded.

On the Games2win channel, viewers can play any of the eight games that are currently available. They can also click on the widget to go to the Games2win website and play other games.

Nautanki.tv’s co-founder and chief executive officer, Sunil Nair, told agencyfaqs! that the number of games on the widget will go up to about 250 games in three months, with the game play time being 3-15 minutes. He added that branded games could also be made part of the network, whether through Games2win, or as a separate channel.

Salil Mahadik, head, portals, Games2win, says that Nautanki’s presence on Facebook was a key deciding factor. “We had the content and they had the reach,” he says, adding that the games had to be optimised for the widget format. Therefore, viewers of Nautanki.tv can play a level of the game through the widget, while they can continue playing the other levels on the Games2win site.

The tie-up with Games2win is the first move in Nautanki.tv’s content diversification strategy. While the network only provided online videos so far, Nair says that the plan now is to make available all types of content, such as music, games and even PDF documents, on the widgets.

Nautanki.tv lets its publishers earn revenue depending on the views of the application. Apart from this, the company is also running video ads that play before the video.
